Wicked Exalted? - Psalm 37

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good; so that thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

- Psalm 37:1-4 KJV

Have you ever watched an “evil” person prosper? In your heart you know that they do not stand for the things of God, but yet they seem to get all the breaks. They get the promotion. They get the vote. They have people talking them up. They seem to have fooled everyone they have come in contact with and you wonder how it can be.

Our job is not to wonder or worry about them. God will deal with each person in His time. Our job is to focus on our own life and how we are living. The psalmist tells us our response is to trust in the Lord and do good. We are to delight ourselves in the Lord.

The next time you see a person who lives a questionable lifestyle become something of importance, don't fret. Just remember that God is just. In the end, his Word will stand true, the evil will stand condemned, and the righteous will stand justified.
